Frequently asked questions

Which permissions does my API token need?

Two read-only permissions, plus one optional read-only permission:

Account Analytics: Read — Workers, R2, and D1 usage.
Billing: Read — official month-to-date amounts, your billing period, and your plan.
D1: Read (optional) — D1 database names in the per-resource breakdown. Without it, the app shows the start of each database ID instead.

The app can open the “Create API token” page on the Cloudflare dashboard with these permissions already selected; create the token there and paste it into the app. Without Billing: Read, the app still works but shows estimated amounts only. Both user API tokens and account API tokens are accepted. Edgeboard never asks for your Global API Key.

Why does signing in with Cloudflare (OAuth) show only estimated amounts?

Cloudflare OAuth does not currently offer a billing permission that Edgeboard can request, so signing in only grants access to usage analytics. The app then estimates your costs from your usage and the public pricing published by Cloudflare, and labels those amounts as estimates. To see official amounts, also add an API token with Billing: Read. Official amounts are available for Pay-as-you-go accounts.

How do I revoke a token or OAuth authorization?

First remove the credential in the app. Then revoke it in the Cloudflare dashboard:

User API token: My Profile › API Tokens, then delete the token you created for Edgeboard.
Account API token: Manage Account › Account API Tokens, then delete the token.
OAuth: My Profile › Access Management › Connected Applications, then select Revoke next to Edgeboard.

OAuth sign-ins are separate on each device, so removing one in the app on one device does not affect your other devices. Revoking the authorization on Cloudflare ends access on all of them.

Can Edgeboard change anything in my Cloudflare account?

No. Edgeboard is read-only. It only reads usage analytics, billing, and subscription information, and it never creates, changes, or deletes Workers, R2 buckets, D1 databases, or any other Cloudflare resource. A token with only the read-only permissions above is all it needs, and such a token cannot make changes either.
